The Warehouse Manager Module

At any time during your data collection with one or more QDS data collection modules, you may add your data into the Warehouse Manager for management and export.

Warehouse Manager Functions

The Warehouse Manager allows you:

• Add collected data to a single warehouse file.
• Track data shipments between field sites and a data coordinating center.
• View and modify data.
• Delete interviews.
• Track data modifications with a corrections log.
• Identify interviews with duplicate identifiers.
• Identify incomplete and resumed interviews.
• Generate an Interview Summary Report.
• Reconcile and convert multiple versions into a single Standard Version.
• Export data to SPSS, SAS, Stata, MS Access flat or relational database, or ASCII file format.

For your data management, you may choose to have one Warehouse Manager that conducts all data management or you may have multiple sites where each will have its own Warehouse Manager for data management. Warehouse procedures will vary depending upon which setup you are using.

Single Warehouse Manager

If you are using one Warehouse Manager for all data management (for a single or multiple sites), the management flow might work as follows.

1. Create a Local Warehouse (one for each data collection instrument).
2. Add Source (Local) Data files to the Warehouse.
   • Note: These files may be sent to the data manager by any means files are usually sent; e.g., email attachment, usb drive, or transfer from cloud or network drive.
3. View and modify data as needed.
4. Reconcile and convert all interviews to Standard Version (if needed).
5. Export data.

Multiple Warehouse Managers

If you have multiple sites that need to manage and export their own data, as well as send data to a management center, you can manage that process as well.

At Individual Site(s)

1. Create Local Warehouse (one for each data collection instrument).
2. Add Source (Local) Data files to the Warehouse.
3. Create Shipment File.
4. Send Shipment File to data management center.
5. Repeat steps 2 though 5 as new data is collected.

At Data Management Center

1. Receive Shipment File(s).
2. Copy Shipment File(s) to Local Warehouse.
3. Generate Receipt File(s).
4. Send Receipt Files to site(s).
5. Export data for analysis.

At Individual Site(s)

1. Post Receipt File.
2. Export data for analysis.
