Warehouse Manager Resumed Interviews

How the Warehouse Manager indicates the status of resumed interviews is dependent on whether or not the data were collected with CAPI/ACASI or QDS-Web (see also Warehouse Status Codes).

CAPI or ACASI

When you have a CAPI or ACASI source data file containing an interrupted or resumed interview (see Resuming a CAPI Interview), there are two interviews, one with a status of "Resumed Later" and the other with a status of "Duplicate (Complete)":

  • Resumed Later: represents the interview as it was at the time of the interruption. This is marked with the "x" status symbol.
  • Duplicate (Complete): represents the final, completed interview.

Only the second, complete interview needs to be added to the Local Warehouse from the Source Data file.

There are three ways you can handle resumed interviews:

  1. If you choose to add both records to the Local Warehouse, you will see the "Replace Interview?" message box:

  1. If you select No, both interviews are added and will be marked as duplicates in the Warehouse with the Complete and Resumed Later labels so that they can be distinguished.

  1. If you select Yes, the interrupted interview will change to Deleted (Resumed Later) and the final, complete interview will be marked as Complete.

Web

Web surveys may be resumed by a respondent using their assigned unique URL to re-launch the survey after an interruption. The ability to resume a Web survey is a custom feature (see Conducting Web Interviews). Resumed Web interviews are marked as Resumed Later (Complete) or Resumed Later (Incomplete). Unlike, CAPI or ACASI interviews, there is only one record for each resumed interview.
