Audio Script Files

Each time you build an ACASI Control File, QDS creates a Script File of all text to be recorded. The Script File is designed to help in the creation and management of voice recordings. It is built directly from the Specifications File and contains the exact text to be recorded. If you plan to use Text-To-Speech exclusively, you may ignore the Script File.

As part of the ACASI Build process, you will be prompted: "A Script File has been produced. Would you like to open the RTF document now?" If you select Yes, QDS will open the Script File using your default word processor. The default name for QDS Script Files is <Specifications Filename> En Script.RTF.

Tip: If you do not wish to be prompted for the script file, un-check the “Prompt to view audio script file” box on ACASI Build Options, Audio.

The Script File contains three columns: Status, File, and Text. For each item, the Status column shows the status of the Audio File; the File column shows the filename; and the Text column shows the text to be recorded. The Text column serves as a script while recording the Audio Files. See Sample Script.
