QDS™ Version 2.4 Fixes

The CAPI/ACASI 2.4 patch fixes the following problems in the CAPI and A-CASI modules:

CAPI / A-CASI

Problem:

Description:

CAPI and A-CASI programs crashed when attempting to recover damaged data file after power surge or other system failure.

If user attempts to resume a prior interview or start a new interview after power surge or system crash, the program will now either resume the interrupted interview or prompt the user to discard the last interview before proceeding

The edit element "launch another control file" feature sometimes failed to find the destination control file.

If the user started CAPI or A-CASI by double-clicking on a control file, the edit launch feature sometimes displayed the following message, "File Transfer Error: Destination file was not found." This has been fixed so that the program always finds the second file as long as it is in the same folder as the first file.

The HAPI 2.4 patch fixes the following problems in the HAPI module:

HAPI

Problem:

Description:

Sometimes a response button on a check-each screen would display a check mark, but HAPI did not store the check in the data file.

This problem only occurred when the user's stylus slipped outside of the button's text region before lifting off the screen. Now, when the user's stylus slips outside of the button's text region, no check mark is displayed. HAPI only displays a check when the user cleanly taps inside the button region, and all checks are accurately stored in the data file.

On a check-each screen where the "If none checked" option was set to "Disallow", if the user tapped once to check a response and then tapped again to un-check the same response, the "Next Question" button on the menu bar remained enabled, allowing the user to proceed with nothing checked.

This problem has been fixed. Now, when the user taps a second time to remove the check mark, the "Next Question" button becomes disabled.
