It is strongly recommended that current users upgrade all QDS™ modules. Conflicts may arise if multiple versions are used simultaneously.

Tables now support up to 26 categories and 100 elements.

The Design Studio Validation function has been enhanced to flag illogical skip instructions inside a table.

The Design Studio Build function has been fixed to properly handle automatic variables inside a table.

The CAPI, A-CASI, and Data Entry modules have been fixed to properly handle skip instructions inside a table that reference variables outside the table.

The Design Studio now automatically copies response cards when a user copies questionnaire elements from one QDS specifications file to another.

The Find function allows the user to search for words or phrases located in questionnaire elements and response cards.

The Go To function allows the user to jump to a new location in the file by specifying an element number.

The A-CASI text-to-speech engine has been upgraded and supports a French language version.

The Language Translations Paper Interviews property page has a new input field for “Skip to next category”, which allows the user to provide non-English translations for this message on paper questionnaires.

The A-CASI module now supports audio for Yes/No and Gender response buttons. The audio may utilize text-to-speech or audio WAV files.

There is a new ACASI Build Option check box to ‘Disallow Interviewer Comments’. This feature will prevent study subjects from adding any comments to the interview response data.

Database lookup functions, DBVALUE, DBCOUNT, and DBSTATUS, are now compatible with Access 97 and Access 2000. The Warehouse Manager Export function now produces database files in Access 2000 format, exclusively.

Database lookup function DBVALUE using automatic numeric calculations: Will retrieve 0 or 1 from Boolean fields and values from numeric fields with field size set to ‘double’. Previously, this function only retrieved integers.

Database lookup function DBVALUE using string expressions: Will retrieve text from numeric fields (1 byte, short, long, and double), 0 or 1 from Boolean fields, dates, and currency fields. Previously, this function only retrieved text fields.

Database lookup function DBCOUNT returns the number of records that match the Where clause.

The A-CASI and CAPI programs have been enhanced to produce an optional report, which lists variables and responses for a single interview.

The Warehouse Manager Export function now supports a new output option, which generates a SAS transport file, containing format statements for every unique response set in the warehouse data. In addition, a second file in ASCII format is generated that cross-references each format name to a list of variable names in the warehouse data.

Installation program creates Sample Files folder, which contains about 60 sample files that correspond to examples in the User’s Manual.
