QDS™ Version 1.9 Fixes

Problems

Description

Re-keyed data does not replace previously entered values with proper skip code.

When a user went back to a previously entered question and the new data changed the outcome of subsequent skips in the questionnaire, previously entered values were not replaced with skip codes. This problem occurred in ACASI, CAPI, and the Data Entry program.

Edit element logic does not work properly in the Data Entry module.

When the logical expression in an edit element was false, the reconciliation elements that followed it were executed, and when the expression was true, the reconciliation elements were not executed. This is the reverse of what it is suppose to do.

Response list for "Pick One" type element is limited to 24 items.

The Data Entry module's Code | Show List feature only supported a maximum of 24 items. This maintenance release expands the size of the list to 997. Note that the CAPI and ACASI modules are still limited to 24.

Response list for "Check all" type element is limited to 23 items.

The Design Studio did not allow a user to add more than 23 items to a Check all response list. It now allows 24.

The function key settings for the Data Entry module are not saved correctly.

The Design Studio did not save the correct settings for the function keys on the Data Entry Build options property page, and every time a user re-built a Data Entry program, the settings would change.

Deleting item from response list causes gap in code values.

In the Design Studio, deletion of an item from the end of a "Pick one" or "Check all" type response list was causing gaps in the code values automatically assigned by QDS. Normally when adding a new item to a list, QDS initializes the value in the Code Item or Check Item dialog box to the next sequential value. This did not work after the user removed an item using the Delete key.

Design Studio allows duplicate values to be included in response list.

In the Design Studio, if the user modified an item in a response list for either a "Pick one" or "Check all" type element, the program saved the modified code value or variable suffix even when Cancel was selected. This error allowed duplicate values to be added to list.

Fatal error in Design Studio's Paste Card function.

The Design Studio would terminate with a fatal error when the following scenario occurred: the user selected Copy Card from the Response Card dialog box, then deleted an item from the list box, and then selected Paste Card.

The ACASI program does not play wave files associated with response items.

The ACASI program failed to play audio wave files assigned to individual response items for "Pick one" or "Check all" type data elements.

The ACASI program does not play audio wave file defined for Edit element.

The ACASI program did not play the audio wave file when it displayed an Edit message.

Design Studio miscalculates field length for certain data elements.

The field length for the following types of data elements was miscalculated when the maximum value was set to a multiple of 10 (10, 100, 1000, …): Numeric, Time Span, Currency, and Numeric Rating Scale.
